American Buildings Company
DESIGN BUILD AWARD 2004-Building Competition
In a small town near the Canadian border there now stands a bustling 50,000 square foot customs transport facility for none other than FedEx. Bidding against every building line in the industry, this was a well earned 210 tons for Munter and American.
This 200 foot wide x 250 long M3 is based on FedEx’s 50 foot grid requirement. A 5,000 square foot accessory office space tucked in the front corner of the building is all they could spare to ensure there was enough warehouse space for the volume of packages handled daily. The barjoist bays expedited erection and helped to quickly enclose the building long before the first frost.
Ordered at the end of June, Magnatran arrived with this complexity 7 in mid- August! With Fall upon us and winter on the horizon, this quick turn around by American was instrumental in helping us successfully meet our December substantial completion date. FedEx knows better than anyone that time is money!
